New! - Chair Yoga

Hi everyone

I have been teaching Chair Yoga to the Stepping Out Cancer Rehabilitation Group every few weeks for the last four years and I have been asked a number of times recently if it's something I teach on a weekly basis, so I decided to go ahead and offer a weekly Chair Yoga class on a Wednesday morning 11:30 - 12:30.

The Chair Yoga I teach adapts traditional yoga poses to ensure that they are accessible for those who might find a full yoga class challenging, particularly if getting up and down from the floor is becoming more difficult. 

The type of yoga I teach is Hatha Yoga which is more than just a physical exercise, it is a holistic practice encompassing the mind, body and spirit.

Each 60 minute class follows a theme from one of the classical yoga texts. Using this as a base you will gradually prepare your body so that you can achieve the best peak posture on any given day. The practice ends with a guided meditation or relaxation related to the theme of the class. The cost per class will be £10.00.

Everyone is encouraged to listen to their own body, to do only what is possible on any given day, and to overcome the need to judge or compare.
